Writing the book is the hard part. Getting it in front of readers should not be.
Most authors finish their manuscript with no clear picture of how a book actually gets from a finished file to a reader’s hands. The answer involves platforms, file specifications, metadata, retail agreements, distribution networks, and account management across systems that do not talk to each other automatically. Each platform has its own requirements. Each one has its own timeline. Each one has its own rules about pricing, categories, and content compliance.
At Digi Book Studio, we handle every part of that process. You finish the book. We get it onto the platforms where readers are already looking for it.

We distribute to over 20 global retail and library platforms. These are not obscure platforms assembled to make a distribution list look longer than it is. These are the platforms where readers actually buy books.
Getting your book listed on 20+ platforms is not a matter of uploading the same file to each one. Every platform has different file format requirements, different metadata fields, different content compliance rules, and different processes for setting up pricing and territorial rights.
Here is what we manage on your behalf.
Your print interior, eBook file, and audiobook are prepared to the technical specifications of each platform before submission. A file that works on Amazon KDP does not automatically work on IngramSpark. An EPUB that passes Apple Books review does not automatically pass Kobo’s validator. We prepare platform-specific files and run technical checks before submission so your book does not get rejected after a three-week review period.
Metadata is how platforms categorize your book and how readers find it through search. Your title, subtitle, author name, book description, BISAC category codes, keywords, language, publication date, territorial rights, and pricing are all entered for each platform at submission.
We write and optimize your retail book description as part of the distribution service. A retail description is not the same as back cover copy. It is written for a reader who is scanning a results page and making a purchase decision in seconds. Category selection and keyword targeting affect how often your book appears in platform search results and recommendation feeds. We make these decisions based on your genre and comparable titles, not based on default settings.

Your book does not have to be available in every country. Some authors have existing publishing agreements in certain territories that restrict where they can sell independently. Others want to limit distribution for strategic reasons. We set territorial rights on every platform based on your instructions before submission.
Your retail price affects your royalty rate, your visibility in platform algorithms, and your conversion rate from browser to buyer. We advise on pricing before submission based on your genre, your comparable titles, and the royalty structure of each platform.
We do not set your price without your approval. Every pricing decision is yours. We provide the data and the recommendation. You make the call.
Print on demand means your book is available for purchase in print format without you holding inventory. When a reader orders a print copy through any retail platform connected to our print-on-demand network, the order is sent to a print facility, the book is printed and shipped directly to the reader, and you receive a royalty for the sale.
Your book is permanently in print as long as you keep it listed. You do not pay for copies that do not sell. You do not store inventory. You do not manage fulfillment.
For authors who want to sell print copies directly, at events, through their author website, or through the Digi Book Studio Bookshop, we can set up a separate direct sales channel alongside retail distribution. Direct sales carry a higher royalty rate than retail platform sales because there is no retailer taking a margin off the list price.

The Digi Book Studio Bookshop is a direct sales channel where authors sell their books to readers and keep a higher percentage of each sale than retail platforms allow.
When a reader buys your book through the Bookshop, there is no retailer taking 40% to 55% of your list price. You set the price. You keep what is left after printing and shipping costs are deducted.
Direct sales also give you something retail platforms do not provide: the buyer’s contact information. Every direct sale is a reader who has chosen to buy from you specifically. That relationship, and the ability to reach that reader when your next book comes out, is worth more than the higher royalty rate alone.
We handle payment processing, order management, and fulfillment for every Bookshop listing. You manage your pricing and track your sales through a simple author dashboard.

Every platform pays royalties on a different schedule and at a different rate. Here is a summary of what to expect.
Amazon KDP — eBooks priced between $2.99 and $9.99 earn 70% royalty. Print royalties are calculated as list price minus printing cost minus Amazon’s retail margin. Payment is monthly, approximately 60 days after the end of the sales month.
IngramSpark — eBook royalties are approximately 40% of list price after Ingram’s distribution fee. Print royalties depend on the retailer discount you set. Payment is quarterly, covering sales from the previous quarter.
Apple Books, Kobo, Barnes & Noble — Royalty rates are typically 60% to 70% of list price. Payment schedules vary by platform.
OverDrive & Library Platforms — Library lending royalties vary by platform and lending model. Hoopla pays per borrow. OverDrive pays based on lending agreements negotiated at the distributor level.
Audible via ACX — 40% royalty for exclusive distribution, 25% for non-exclusive. Payment is monthly.
Findaway Voices / Spotify — Royalty rates vary by retail partner, typically ranging from 40% to 80% of the wholesale price. Payment is monthly with full sales reporting.
